A Music City Story
I am just beginning to write this website, learning how as I go, but soon I hope to fill it with Chapters and Verses that cover the more than seventy years of life I have lived – the music I have made with so many incredibly talented musicians, songwriters, engineers and wonderful people I have met since hitch-hiking to Nashville in 1971, the day after I graduated from high school. Please join me by subscribing – I’d love to hear from you!

2nd Avenue Re-opens!
My daughter, Michelle Scopel, was the lead director of Nashville’s 2nd Avenue renovation after the Christmas Day bombing of 2020. Michelle and Mayor Freddie O’Connell spoke at the celebrated re-opening today, December 22nd, 2025. Here is Michelle’s speech… Proud Dad am I!
Meet Bella Barbero
Bella has been an artist ever since I’ve known her (she’s my granddaughter, and Michelle Scopel’s ← daughter…) She has decided to become a tattooist, and although she is currently an apprentice, you can see by the work and passion she puts into her art why she is loved over at The East Tattoo Collective. Her IG tells a story, see for yourself!
This was my 15th year as musical director of the Country Music Association Hall of Fame Medallion Ceremony, when the new members are formally inducted. This year’s members were June Carter Cash, Tony Brown and Kenny Chesney. It’s such a great night, and an absolute honor to be a part of this and share the night with so many artists and musicians paying tribute to those new members. click here for the recap!
Ghost of Yotei: Soundtrack listening party!
Playstation released Ghost of Yotei on October 2nd worldwide – a video game with dazzling graphics and an incredible story line. But it also has a fantastic soundtrack that I was so privileged to be a part of – this listening party features an in-depth discussion of the many aspects of game production, with a real focus on the instruments and score as told by the composer. click here for the video!
Human Radio!
My new favorite band! I remember Human Radio from many years ago in Nashville. They were WAY ahead of their time. Paul Worley tells me they recorded much of this at his studio The Money Pit in 1990 with Mike Poole engineering. It’s incredible music – even 35 years later! Check out “While You Were Sleeping”
Music City Rhymers release "The Juice"
Peter Cronin, David Ross and Biff Watson – Music City Rhymers! Link up with them and enjoy their songs! Peter sings and Biff plays, and with David they write and produce their tunes in Timekeeper Studio.
Back to the story..
Stories and songs… they create a mood, take your heart and mind to deeper places. This is a story about me, Biff Watson, and it’s a lot like a song, an emotional journey filled with music, lyrics and melodies, and people I have met along the way. Stories and songs have beginnings and endings but we won’t talk about endings here, only new beginnings.
Preface (Intro)
I knew at an early age that music was my passion, my voice, and all I wanted to do was express it.
Church choir, piano lessons, trumpet in the band, playing ukulele with Mom’s brother Jim on banjo…
And then The Beatles on Ed Sullivan.
The guitar – the dream was forged.
The TIMEKEEPERS were born.

For half a century, under the headphones, behind a guitar, in front of a microphone!
